DMCA Takedown Policy
ParlayAPI, Inc.
Effective Date: May 7, 2026
Last Updated: May 7, 2026
1. Overview
ParlayAPI respects the intellectual property rights of others and expects our customers to do the same. This policy describes how copyright owners may submit notices of alleged infringement under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act, 17 U.S.C. § 512 (the "DMCA"), how affected users may submit counter-notifications, and how we handle repeat infringers.
This policy applies to content hosted on parlay-api.com, including documentation, blog posts, customer-uploaded content, and any user-generated material in our community surfaces. It does not apply to underlying sportsbook odds data, which is factual information not subject to copyright protection in the United States; allegations concerning that data should be raised under our general legal contact at legal@parlay-api.com.
2. Designated Agent
Our DMCA Designated Agent, registered with the United States Copyright Office, is:
Name: DMCA Designated Agent, ParlayAPI, Inc.
Email: dmca@parlay-api.com
Postal Address: ParlayAPI, Inc., Attn: DMCA Agent, [registered business address on file with USCO]
Telephone: [registered with USCO]
Notices that do not reach the Designated Agent through one of the channels above may not receive timely response. Only legitimate copyright takedown notices should be sent to this contact; general support inquiries, AUP complaints, and security reports use other channels (support@, security@).
3. Submitting a DMCA Takedown Notice
To be effective under 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3), your notice must be a written communication that includes substantially the following:
- Physical or electronic signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
- Identification of the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed, or, if multiple works are covered by a single notification, a representative list of those works.
- Identification of the allegedly infringing material with sufficient detail to allow us to locate it. Provide the full URL on parlay-api.com, the specific resource path, and (where applicable) the section of the page at issue. Vague references to "your site" are not sufficient.
- Contact information for the complaining party, including a physical address, telephone number, and email address.
- A good-faith statement that the complaining party has a good-faith belief that the use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that the information in the notification is accurate and that the complaining party is authorized to act on behalf of the owner of the exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
- Within 1 business day: Acknowledge receipt to the complaining party at the email address provided.
- Within 3 business days: Review the notice, evaluate its facial validity, and remove or disable access to the material identified, where the notice is compliant on its face.
- Promptly after removal: Notify the affected user (if any) at the contact information on file, providing a copy of the takedown notice and informing them of their right to submit a counter-notification.
- Your physical or electronic signature.
- Identification of the material that has been removed or to which access has been disabled, and the location at which the material appeared before removal.
- A statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
- Your name, address, and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the federal district court for the judicial district in which your address is located (or, if your address is outside the United States, for any judicial district in which ParlayAPI may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who provided the original DMCA notice or from an agent of that person.
- First strike: A compliant DMCA notice resulting in removal of user-uploaded or user-controlled content. The user receives written notice and a copy of the takedown.
- Second strike: A second compliant DMCA notice within any rolling 12-month period. The user receives a formal warning indicating that one further substantiated notice will result in account termination.
- Third strike: A third compliant DMCA notice within any rolling 12-month period. The user's account is terminated, all API keys associated with the account are revoked, and access to ParlayAPI services is suspended indefinitely.
Notices that omit any required element will be returned with a description of the deficiency and may not result in removal until the deficiency is cured. Knowingly false notices may give rise to liability under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).
4. Our Response Timeline
Upon receipt of a compliant notice, we will:
Time-sensitive notices involving live in-play data are handled on a same-business-day basis where possible.
5. Counter-Notification Process
If you are a ParlayAPI user whose content has been removed pursuant to a DMCA notice, and you believe the removal was the result of mistake or misidentification, you may submit a counter-notification under 17 U.S.C. § 512(g)(3). Your counter-notification must include:
Submit counter-notifications to the same Designated Agent contact above.
Upon receipt of a compliant counter-notification, we will forward a copy to the original complaining party and inform them that we will replace the removed material or cease disabling access to it within 10 to 14 business days, unless the original complainant files an action seeking a court order against the user.
6. Repeat Infringer Policy
In accordance with 17 U.S.C. § 512(i), ParlayAPI maintains a policy for the termination, in appropriate circumstances, of accounts of users who are repeat infringers.
We apply a three-strike standard:
Counter-notifications that successfully restore content do not count as strikes. Notices that we determine to be facially deficient, abusive, or made in bad faith do not count as strikes against the affected user.
We reserve the right to terminate any account immediately, without regard to the three-strike sequence, where infringement is willful, large-scale, or accompanied by other material breaches of our Terms of Service or Acceptable Use Policy.
7. Modification of This Policy
We may update this DMCA Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the law or in our procedures. The "Last Updated" date at the top of this document indicates when the policy was most recently revised. Material changes will be communicated through the customer dashboard or by email to the address on file.
